What is garments Marker | Garments Marker Making Process

Marker is skinny paper which contains all necessary pieces of pattern to make good garments. The marker is
used usually placed on the fabric lay for cutting guidance of fabric. On this system marker efficiency is most important. Marker efficiency depends on the fabric effort, expertness, responsibility, experience, and technical knowledge of marker planner. The size of garments is the more the different size of pattern paper in a marker. The more will be the marker sufficiency but large number of different size case exception. Marker efficiency will increase with the increasing marker length and increase by changing the pattern design of some parts of garments. Marker efficiency will be more in the fabric is symmetric and vice versa. The methods of marker making are more in computerized than manual but much time is necessary for this technique. In this process higher the marker width easier the marker planning and then the marker efficiency will be increase. Types of garments and the higher the number of big pattern pieces of garments lower the efficiency of marker.
Constraints of marker making
Grain line: grain line is more effective constraint of marker marking because of grain line. Sometimes it is tough to place the pattern onto the marker, even though it is possible the wastage become higher.
Fabric characteristics: fabric which can retain the same appearance while turning in 180° angle called symmetric fabric. They required no special attestation no special attestation during marker making. Asymmetric fabrics are those which cannot retain the same appearance while turning in 1800 angle. Nature of the fabric may sometimes regard as a constraint of marker making.
Design of garments: sometimes garments may require special design like mirror image, the some appearance in lower front and lower front part in this case both the fabric and pattern pieces should be laid down with special care so that we can get desired design and get a better garments.
Production Planning: production planning includes the rate of production, types of garments, sixes of garments etc. when an order is placed for quantity of garments, it normally specifics a quantity of each size and color if the sewing room requires the cut components urgently. The marker planner has to make two types of marker.
Methods of marker planning:
Manual technique:
Manual technique a man performs it by himself using hands. It is a conventional method that requires more time there are different system of manual technique.
v  Pinup all the pattern pieces directly on fabric.
v  Paint sprays fabric.
v  Marker by pen/pencil in a large paper.
v  Light sensitive paper technique.
v  Marker by chalk on fabric.
Computerized method:
This is the best method as gives higher marker efficiency. In this method the pattern size, pattern pieces, grade rule screening are fed to the computer and set in the memory which produces marker automatically. There are two different types of computerized method Digitizing and CAD System. In this system the working pattern are placed on to the digitizing table, then clicking according to the pattern dimension. And scanner is one types of machine like photo copier. The working patterns are placed on to the glass of the scanner and them marker is made for a selected size.
aims of marker making for garments: the garments industries has to pay a great attention to the marker planning because when the cutting rooms cuts cloth it spreads around half the company’s turnover. Any reduction in the amount of cloth of used per garments leads to an increase an increase in profit. Marker planning is a conceptualizing, open and visualizes the marker as a whole or to see it at a glance.

macro-structure of cotton fiber | Under a microscope cotton

Under a microscope a cotton fiber appears as a very fine, regular fiber, looking like a twisted ribbon or a collapsed and twisted tube. These twists are called convolutions there are about sixty convolutions per centimeter. The convolutions give cotton an uneven fiber surface, which increases inter-fiber friction and enables fine cotton, yearns of squatted strength to be spun. The appearance of the cotton fiber’s cross sections is referred as being kidney-shaped. The micro structure of cotton The cotton fiber is a single plant cell. Its cross-section is oval, compared with the normal hexagonal plant cell. Cotton has a district cuticle, well developed primary and secondary walls and a lumen. Layer 1 the cuticle is a waxy protective layer that provides water resistance to the fibers as they are growing. This lawyer is removed by scouring during processing before spinning.

Importance of twisted structure of textile fiber

Trelor in his Mather lecture, titled “Twisted Structures” adequately recognizes the role of twist in yarns and the part it plays in the design of textile structures .He discusses the obvious necessity of twist in the natural and staple fibers by pointing out “ Twist is essential to provide a certain minimum coherence between fibers, without a yarn having a significant tensile strength cannot be made. This coherence is dependent on the frictional forces brought into play by the lateral pressures between fibers arising from the application of a tensile stress along the yarn axis. With the introduction of continuous filament yarns, however, the role of twist must be reconsidered. In continuous filament yarns, twist is not necessary for the attainment of tensile strength (in fact, it reduces it) but it is necessary for the achievement of satisfactory resistance to abrasion, fatigue, or other types of damage associated with stresses other than a simple tensile stress, and typified ...

Types of Yarn twist | different types of yarn twist | S twist | Z twist

Types of Yarn twist different types of yarn twist S twist Z twist“S” TWIST: A single yarn has “S” twist if when it is held in the vertical direction , the fibers inclined to the conform in direction of slope of the contact portion of the letter “S”. axis of the yarn “Z” TWIST. A single has “Z” twist if when it is held in the vertical direction, the fibers inclined to the yarn axis conform in the direction of the slope to the central portion of the letter “Z”. DIRECTION OF TWIST: In the designation of yarns, it is essential to specify the direction of twist. Besides its importance in simplifying the trade, it is of great technical importance in designing fabrics. For example, in a twill fabric, the direction of twist in the yarn is of particular importance in determining the predominance of twill effect. For a   right-handed twill, the best contrasting effect will be obtained when a yarn with Z twist is used; on the other-hand a left-handed twist will produce a fabric ha...
